15 Inch Industrial LCD Display Overview: The 4:3 Workhorse

The 15-inch LCD remains one of the most requested sizes in our catalog, and for good reason. It is the gold standard for the 4:3 aspect ratio (1024 x 768 XGA). While the consumer world has moved to widescreen, the industrial world still relies on the 15-inch "square" format because it perfectly fits legacy rack-mount systems and standardized CNC control panels.

From an engineering standpoint, the 15-inch panel offers a mechanical stability that is hard to beat. Because the supply chain is mature, these panels often come in a ruggedized CCFL-to-LED transition design, meaning they provide high brightness (typically 450–500 nits) without the thermal overhead of newer, unproven technologies. For outdoor or high-ambient light environments, we frequently offer a 1000-nit high-bright version using an enhanced LED backlight string.

One often-overlooked advantage is the pixel pitch. At 0.297mm, the text is naturally larger and easier to read for operators on a factory floor compared to the finer pitch of high-resolution widescreen panels. If your application involves legacy software interfaces that aren't responsive to wide layouts, the 15-inch 4:3 is your safest technical path.
